My family and I are going to Rome and Florence in September. We have been back many times and go to eat, basically. We have eaten at really upscale, swanky places..Entoce Pinchiorri, Villa San Michelle, whatever that restaurant is on the top of the Hassler hotel..Great experiences but we want to focus on great trattorias...pastas, rustic regional foods. In Rome we love Ristorante Giovanni and in Florence Buca Lapi and Buca Mario. Love to know places that serve house-made pastas, bolognese, chingalle(bad spelling)...stuff like that that is not fussy. We are bringing a baby this time..yikes!
