Rockland or Westchester County for Valentine's Day?

clottedcream | Jan 25, 2003 10:00 PM

I called a couple of restaurants in Manhattan the day they supposedly started taking reservations for Valentine's Day, but I have nada for my top five choices. Things are too competitive in NYC. I guess it's just as well, cause the mandatory set dinners at $100 a head are usually not worth it.

So I was resigned to staying in, but now I realize that won't do. So, does anyone have a suggestion for a place in lower Rockland or Westchester County, not too far of a drive from Manhattan, that will be delicious, have nice ambience, and might have availabilty for Feb. 14th? Or, am I delusional?

I'm not familiar with restaurants in the area at all. I'm guessing Xaviar's in Piermont will be booked. How is Restaurant X in Congers?
