I'll let the review in the link below put a wonderfully detailed description to an evening very much like the one my wife and I shared last evening at Ron Siegel's current domain.
We celebrated her bday there as she has been a big fan of Ron's since his days at CNH in the 90's. We went there first when he was just celebrating his Iron Chef win with a recreation of the meal he made for the contest in 1997.
We had just celebrated our 10th anniversary last fall with the tasting menu at French Laundry so the memory is still fresh but I have to say Ron's right up there with Keller now. As masterful as Ron has been in the past, his work has risen noticeably since his earlier days.
I don't think it's as hard to reserve a table at the Ritz (I easily scored a Sat prime time res 6 weeks prior to the date) as they seem to have more tables available and the price even for the 9 course we each had is somewhat less expensive than FL. I would highly recommend it to anyone at any time. Best dinner either of us have ever had.
