Rip-off at Tuller - that's it, never again

Sir Gawain | Feb 9, 2005 02:49 PM

So, I realized today that my local overpriced fancy food store, Tuller, charged me a total of $23.50 for a can of Jacques Torres' hot chocolate mix.

Which costs $16 when bought from JT.

I've always thought that damn mix was way overpriced but I share the household with someone who is addicted to the stuff.

I checked the price again with Tuller, and yup, they indeed charge $19.50 per can before tax.

That's a rip-off, and I am boycotting them from now on. I can get as good or better cheeses at better prices from any number of places in Manhattan, AND from FreshDirect. I'm not going to bankroll Tuller any more.

And I'm making my own goddamn mix out of Ghirardelli double chocolate chips. I've tried it once and it was good. I'll post results.
