In January 2018, I'm gifting my wife, for her 50th birthday, a week in Oahu with a group of her closest friends. While I'm way early (I hope), I am starting to consider what restaurants we should consider. As a special occasion, $ is not the most relevant issue. Instead, I am seeking advice for best food, wine, service, ambiance and view. We want to be celebratory and fun but elegant. My wife loves great food but enjoys the simpler culinary pleasures of high quality and well prepared fresh fish, meat, vegetables, pasta, soups and amazing wine. She loves many French foods but sadly she doesn't at all appreciate caviar, raw fish/meat, foam on food presentation, escargot, glands, etc.
Restaurants I'm considering are:
Roy's - Waikiki
Kalapawai Cafe (we are staying in a house in Kailua)
Pig & The Lady
I would welcome experienced diners opinions on these ideas above and others.
