had dinner at Restaurant K tonight. Nearly every appetizer and main dish was available for Restaurant Week, which was nice. The service was very attentive and it was clear from entrance to exit that everyone on the wait staff was prepared to impress.
I found the food to be good but not great. I started with lamb sausage with plantains and goat cheese. It was fine but not anything memorable. My main course was scallops with black beans and tomatoes and a shrimp quesedilla on the side. The scallops were well prepared but the black beans and tomatoes didn't have enough flavor. The quesedilla was really disappointing- a couple of small pieces of shrimp that were dried out with not much else in the wrap. I had a corn and apple dish in a caramel sauce for dessert. Again it was fine- just not memorable.
My husband was happier with his meal. He started with the mushroom baklava and then had rockfish, which he enjoyed very much. For dessert he had a chocolate cream pie, which he liked but said was much heavier than he would have expected.
It is certainly worth a try for restaurant week but I wouldn't go back and pay full price.
