was asked to find a "not too esoteric" and "not crazy expensive" but "reasonably nice" place for a group (family) dinner next saturday night (not three days from now). would prefer somewhere in central or downtown SF (from say the castro/hayes valley/mission/soma/downtown area).
its important that i be able to get a reservation for our big group, and id like it to be a good meal. nopa would be a solid benchmark for the type of place were seeking in terms of both price and atmosphere.
ive been away for a while and while i lurk on these boards, all my obvious choices are coming up booked.
