Has anyone replicated a Chicago-style Pizza Puff?

Here in Birmingham, AL someone opened a Chicago-style diner, and we tried the Pizza Puff from Iltaco Foods http://www.iltaco.com/Pizza_Puffs___R... This is definitely NOT gourmet nor health food: apparently the original pizza pocket, but it's deep fried. Their Facebook page has many people wondering how/if they can be purchased locally, but no replies.

Just wondering if any of you Chowhounders have tried making one yourself?
