Rendering barbecued brisket fat?

I ordered a whole barbecued brisket which was absolutely delicious. I was left with a ton of smoked fat pieces which I am currently rendering on the stove. It looks like I'm going to be left with a lot of liquid fat and some sort of crackelings. I did this intuitively - I'm not exactly sure what to do with my results.
