The way Chowhound works now, it will automatically link restaurants to your post if it recognizes the name of an Italian restaurant. in what you have written This autolinking activates once a restaurant in the database has been linked once, I believe.
The auto-linking is in addition to any actions you take by clicking on "Manage Your Links" to add or subtract a referenced restaurant.
Unfortunately sometimes the software links a restaurant in a wrong town or a totally extraneous restaurant because of something you said - Gambero Rosso, San Pietro and Castello being recent examples.
If you dont want to get involved in clicking on Manage your links, you can fix erroneous auto-links by simply looking at your posts after they post. Hit REMOVE next to an erroneous link and it will go away. (this remove capability goes away after a while.)
If its not your post or if you wait too long , and you see an incorrect link you can hit the REPORT button and asked for its removal currently I am doing this all the time.
