Reedley/Jon's Bear Club Review

I finally made it out to JBC Friday night for a late dinner with my hubby. It's about a 40 minute drive for us, but the scenery is really pretty. We pulled up to the place which is very uneventful. If you don't know what you're looking for, you would definitely pass this place right by. The Sherwood Inn does have a beautiful building, now with a waterfall in front.

We entered and were promptly seated at a table in the back. Inside decor is very nice with pretty artwork on the walls. We felt good about the place. And we were right!!!

We started with the appetizer of the sliced New York steak which has crumbled blue cheese and beurre bland, served with thinly sliced sourdough bread. What a treat, we devoured every bite.

For a salad, I chose the field greens with mixed baby lettuces and raspberry vinaigrette and crumbled blue cheese. Excellent! A glass of Mondavi Johannasburg Riesling was chosen since I knew I would be having a seafood entree.

For my entree I chose the calamari steak which is lightly floured and sauteed in garlic cream with a side of angel hair pasta. It was excellent, totally wonderful. My hubby chose the stuffed chicken breast which is stuffed with mushrooms, fresh mozzarella, herbs and spices with lemon beurre blanc and served with a side of garlic mashers. He raved about how this was the BEST chicken entree he has ever had, and he is VERY picky. Just could not say enough wonderful things about how much he enjoyed this entree.

What was really cool was that Jon was in the kitchen himself cooking that night and came out to visit with us during dinner. What a friendly man! He truly loves what he does and is very good at it!!

For dessert I chose the housemade ice cream that was an orange/vanilla sherbert that was divine. Lots of zesty orange taste to it and very creamy. There were also assorted cheesecakes that sounded very good.

We had a very nice dining experience and will definitely return again and again. They are also open for lunch which may come in very handy for those of you who are on your way up to the Kings/Sequoia area. Give Jon's a try! You'll be glad you did!! ***kim***
