I was at a local shopping mall in San Jose known for its solid ability to kill just about any restaurant that opens within its asphalt kingdom. Only the truly deep-pockets of chains like Mimi's and Le Boulangerie have been able to weather The Curse of El Paseo de Saratoga.
Enter Red Robin -- in the exact same location as one of its former competitors, Cucina Cucina. I just wonder if anyone does even the smallest amount of market research anymore prior to sinking so much money into a site... It had a line out the door tonight so that's a good sign. I wish them well.
