Looking for rec from Tacoma Chowhounds

LA_ChowhoundGil | Jul 24, 200510:22 PM     7

Hello,

I will be visiting Tacoma in September, along with my family. It will be a bittersweet visit, as we will be spreading the ashes of my departed father in the Puget Sound (he was very happy living in Tacoma, long ago)

I am looking for a recommendation on a place place to have dinner. Hopefully, a cozy diner that was likely open back in the late sixties (maybe somewhere he might have enjoyed when he was there). I am open to any suggestions (probably partial to an old diner or mexican place, as he was hispanic).

I am hoping for some Tacoma Chowhound guidance. Thanks for reading this.

-Gil
