I just discovered this site and wanted to let all of you Philly cheesesteak fan's out there know about the real taste of Philadelphia on the West Coast. It's called South Street, located on Broxton south of Weyburn in Westwood Village. There is another smaller location in Hollywood on Sunset (I think). Anyway, these are the real deal, they fly in the bread and steak from Philly and they are the only place in town to use Cheeze Whiz on their sandwich. FYI - You have to ask for it. I've eaten the real thing several times at Pat's and Gino's in downtown Philly and all I have to say is that these steaks are the bomb! I even did a taste test when I flew out to Philly in November, basically I had the cheesesteak at South Street in Westwood before getting on my red-eye flight. Then had one each from Pat's and Gino's for lunch when I got to Philly. I couldn't tell the difference. Well, I digress, so if you love authentic Philly cheesesteaks, then don't waste your time going anywhere other than South Street!
