During my three months in thailand I ate som tam or green papaya salad practically everyday. Spicy, salty, fresh, peanut-y -- I believe it is the perfect food.
I despair of finding good som tam in NYC but I haven't lost hope. Has anyone had som tam in NYC that uses little dried shrimps, sufficient chilli, kaffir limes, fresh papaya (the stuff I've had here so far tastes rubbery) and whatever else goes in that crazy mix?
