Hi, All. Can anyone tell me the difference raspberry brandy and raspberry liqueur. From reading the internet, it looks like the brandy is alcohol made from the raspberries themselves and the liqueur is made by adding another alcohol and sugar with the raspberries. To me, it seems like the biggest difference in taste is liqueur is sweeter (and perhaps has a thicker consistency) than brandy.
For practical reasons (ie. to make mulled wine that calls for raspberry brandy), can I substitute Chambord (and use less sugar than what the recipe calls for) for raspberry brandy? I would think so, but wanted to hear from experts.
