Why are electric range controls placed above the burners by designers? Probably they never have to clean the control! I see some gas ranges with controls where I think they should be: on the front over the oven. I can't stand for long and have to get my housecleaner to clean the darn controls over the range burners. They get grease on them and need cleaning all the time. If they were on the front I could do the job myself. Can't switch to gas which I would prefer, but I may have to investigate doing just that (my son would be thrilled!) I have a glass-top range now and the heat controls are slow to say the least.
