Raga, on Smith St/Bergen St.

Had the second great meal in the last two months last night at Raga, on Smith St. between Dean and Bergen. Anyone else eaten there?

I and my roommate found the chicken bhona to be delicious and well-spiced, the mushroom sauce to go with the mushroom poori to be good, and the meat and egg stuffed paratha to be servicable. Big mango lassis, too. The papadoms were peppery and we were given plenty of sauces to go with them (and more papadoms on request). The coconut rice pudding that came before the check was, we were told, on our waiter, which was a nice touch.

The staff was -very- nice, even if the service was a bit slow (there was a huge birthday party there, which probably accounted for the delay - I was unaware of the second verse to Happy Birthday, but "Happy Long Life To You" seemed to be a cheery thought; wonder if it's an Indian tradition).

I think my entree was $7.95; you could do a lot worse at that price (Baluchi's, ahem).
