Alas and alack, a major downtown restaurant closing has been announced: Quilty's in SoHo will shutter Jan. 1. Chef Katy Sparks will undoubtedly land on her incredibly capable feet, but I'm deeply afraid that this is the first of many that were and are hobbled by You-Know-What.
It's excruciatingly important that we all support the restaurants we love in lower Manhattan, or they will simply disappear. No restaurant in town can survive without "regulars." If you can remotely afford to, o gentle Hounds, dine out often!
