quiet restaurant for a birthday dinner

chowcat | Oct 14, 200209:11 AM     11

I have a curious request. I'm looking for a good restaurant (not the highest-price tier though) that is not too noisy, to take my mother in celebration of her 75th birthday in early November. She likes all types of food except sushi and is an adventurous eater. Noise, however, is a problem for her. We've tried going to fancy restaurants very early (like 5:30) but that's not much fun. Any suggestions? Anywhere in the greater Boston area is fine, though north or west or in town are preferable to south.

Is Sel de la Terre too noisy? It sounds perfect otherwise.
thanks,
chowcat
