Question on substituting whole wheat flour in a crepe recipe

I have been making the following crepe recipe for years. My father has been diagnosed with diabetes and I would like to try substituting whole wheat flour for the white flour in the recipe. Does anyone have any experience using whole wheat flour? Can I simply substitute the whole wheat flour or would there need to be adjustments to the other ingredients in the recipe?

3 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup sifted flour
