Pumpkin Bread

selfportrait93 | Nov 9, 2011 06:56 AM

It's that time of the year when all the pumpkins are gone from sight and everyone is looking forward to a season of eating, reunions and holidays. It signals The Monastery of the Angels to start baking their famous pumpkin bread.
I finally got to try it for the first time.
It is a regular loaf sized bread weighing one pound topped with walnuts.
Sweet but not too sweet and with just enough hint of pumpkin and spices to make it a very filling treat.
Sister Mary assured me that I will be coming back for more. And after the first two slices over a cup of freshly brewed coffee, I certainly will be returning and part with my $10 for some heavenly treat.
Will probably earn me some brownie points upstairs, too, I hope.
