Pulled Chicken

I made way too many chicken thighs in barbecue sauce, on the stovetop.
I would like to make pulled-chicken out of some of them.
They have been refrigerated soI wonder if I should pull the chicken and then re-heat it in the sauce, or re-heat it and then pull it when warm, and return it to the sauce.
