Bright and early I headed to Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site for a self-guided tour. After a big breakfast at my B&B and dinner at The Love Apple the night before, https://www.chowhound.com/post/love-a... , my appetite for investigating the food offerings might have been dampened.

But I did stop at one shop to look for bread and purchased these rolls. The proprietress explained that she bakes it herself and does not use commercial yeast. She said that it would stay fresh for several days. I had been a little afraid that I'd spent my $8 on commercial brown-n-serve rolls. But we had these at dinner that night and they were much denser than a commercial roll and also had a touch of salinity. They also kept quite well, so I think that they probably are a scratch product.
