I went to the Public Restaurant and Bar last night on 11th and Folsom to have their DAT menu. However looking around us, the entree's were enormous and so were the salads so we ended up not opting for it. So, between my 4 friends and I we had several of their starters and salads and all were delicious. This is a great place any night of the week. When we were there it was dead empty and the brick walls and lofted upper floor still made it feel cozy. Because of its location, the place can be quite bustling on weekends. If you are looking for the best DAT value I really think this place is it. They had 2 meat and 1 pasta option for the entree, and as I said, portions were plentiful.
Without going into too much detail, the following are what I tried and all loved.
Beet salad with goat cheese and blood orange
Wild boar sausage with white bean, balsamic reduction, onions, and figs
Rock shrimp and crab cake (1 large one)
Shrimp "bruschetta" with bell peppers and garlic on 2 large pieces of toasted baguette
If you are going for the DAT, look on their main menu for the Duck Sugo, Pork Chop and Risotto to see in detail what they are.
