Need help pt 1: tastes of SF

Okay, time to pick to collective SF chowhound brain.

I'm running a hospitality suite for a 175-person convention at the Ramada Plaza (8th and Market, SF) in February. This is the third time I've done this event, so I've pretty much got the basics down, but I do need some help.

On Friday evening I want to have a reception featuring "tastes of San Francisco" -- finger foods from diffents ethnic communities in SF (at a minimum Chinese, Italian and Mexican in addition to Vietnamese (I was going to get some banh mi and cut them into finger sandwich sizes.)).

The catch: limited budget and limited resources for heating/preparing/storing food, etc. (I'm working with a hotel suite with a sink and mini-fridge, and very old wiring).

So I need some suggestions on foods that will be fun, will excite people about the bounty of the city, can be kept and served pretty close to room temperature, can be easily picked up on Friday afternoon, can be served as finger food, and won't break the budget. Quality is important, but price/value ratio probably more so on this occasion.
