Restaurants & Bars

Provo and Orem, Utah

Work has once again brought me to the Provo and Orem area. Anyone have ideas to help expand my repertoire of good restaurants in the area?

So far my two favorites - the ones I visit every time - are Bombay House on N. University Ave. in Provo, and Thai Chili Gardens on 800 N. in Orem. Both places have a consistently delicious menu that would do well back home in California. Bombay House has the bonus of a decent beer and wine selection.

I've tried several Mexican places but the only one that I want to try again is Las Tarascas on N. University Parkway. Tucano's and Chef's Table are good but a bit heavy for a regular dinner stop. Ottavio's is OK but a style of Italian-American restaurant that's not my favorite.

So what else is particularly good? Now that the weather's nice I could travel a bit farther afield for something good. The Tree Room is already on the list to try at some point. Chains are of little interest unless they're local to Utah.

Thanks for any advice!

Michael
