This rain is getting old and boring, so I've been trying to cheer myself up with, you guessed it, food. Which is how hubby and I ended up at La Ciccia the other night, even though I was trying hard to go a whole month without dining there (for the sake of my new diet). Well, the rain wouldn't quit, there was nothing to eat in the house, and La Ciccia is close by and lacks the parking issues when it is raining that some of my other favorite comfort spots have...so I told hubby, 'we can go, but no wine and only two courses each'...
who was I kidding? no wine at La Ciccia? That lasted about one minute...but we did manage to stick to two courses, thanks to the fact that one of those courses was prosciutto: cured 18 months according to the chef, and as good as I've had. I am not good at adjectives, but this was Perfect Piggy Goodness: it is served plain and covers an entire big plate somewhere between the size of my dinner plates and a serving platter. Forgot to make a note of the exact cost but I think it was around $12(?). Great with an order of the La Ciccia Sardinian flatbread (ordinarily $5 but we were comp'd it, so yes, guess we do dine there regularly....)
and I hope this rain stops soon. Well, maybe not.
