There is a pretty Korean restaurant in Markham called:
Seoul Garden Korean Restaurant
4350 Steeles E, Markham (905) 305-0699
This location in Market Village shopping centre used to be a Demetre Cafe. Demetre created a pretty Mediterranean style garden or courtyard. Unfortunately, the menu was not popular in this neighbourhood.
Now it's a Korean restaurant offering Korean dishes and BBQ tables. The food is average but the decor is above-average. The restaurant resembles an outdoor garden or courtyard, with the sun shining thru the glass roof and a (fake) waterfall in the middle of the room. The Korean staff is friendly.
I'm curious why people like Korean style BBQ (in other words, the customer has to cook his food at the table). It just seems annoying to me. I did try it and the meat was pretty good.
Market Village also has a pretty good Chinese restaurant, near the Steeles entrance of the mall. It's a large, pretty Chinese restaurant, kind of expensive. It's located right across the food court and a place that makes Chinese egg roll/crepe cookies.
