i just wanted to document that i had an excellent dinner at clinton baking the other night before a concert at mercury lounge. no other place seemed to satisfy my needs that night...too crowded, too hot, not interested in the menu.
strolled into clinton baking, no wait for a table at 8:30 and had a delicious meal with a friend. service was great as well. had this market fish tacos that were surprisingly excellent, this artichoke pizza which had a bit too much creme fraiche on it but otherwise tasty, and a great lobster blt...as a jew, its my ultimate weakness...lobster and bacon. great entree and great fries.
dinner was reasonably priced and i left very pleased.
also worth noting is i had dinner a month before at community food and juice uptown and had a very similarly surprising dinner there as well.
totally solid neighborhood places.
