Portchester--thanks uncledave

An ad-hoc overnight visit to Rye Brook found me this morning at Crossroads Cafe in Portchester.

Very good arugula/goat cheese/tomato omelet. A real find. Don't know what we'll do for breakfast Memorial Day Sunday and Monday when Crossroads Cafe is closed. Hoping, I guess, for a respectable diner. Any thoughts?

After breakfast, spent about fifteen minutes cruising town randomly, trying to get a fix on Chowhound/Portchester research, looking for Los Gemelos and Restaurant Misti. Found the former, yet to find the latter. Did see La Brasa.

There are a TON of possibilities, in the village alone, however (didn't get out on to Rt 1). Saw at least a dozen. I guess when we are here over Memorial day one thing we'll do is cruise some and try to see which places are busiest.

Meanwhile, I'm willing the Portchester hounds to eat vociferously during the interim, and report back some more.

Thanks uncledave, and everyone too.
