Very perplexed. I’m about to lose my gas range and have to replace it with portable electric burners. I’m leaning towards induction but have never used it before.
I’m mostly worried about my somewhat thin triply duxtop cookware getting warped. And running 2 electric burners without blowing a breaker.
My extreme uses for the burner are simply searing. I’ll be heating up a cast iron skillet and ideally 1 other stainless steel pan also to help with temperature loss and give me a bit of fond for gravy.
I’ll bring it to 450 degrees Fahrenheit and sear.
What I’m wondering is. What approximate wattage does your every day portable induction top need to get the pan to 450 at a warp-free speed and yet high enough to hold a sear?
