Pollo Campero - excellent

Finally tried this place after hearing about it for awhile. It's a "fast food" kind of place meaning you get your food very quickly. But I found it surprisingly good, compared to El Pollo Loco etc. The chicken is fried with a light coating, no thick batter here. All 3 pieces were very juicy and cooked just right. The beans are cooked with pieces of bacon and are tasty. The "spicy" rice is not particularly spicy, but has more spice than usual plus peas and other stuff. The slaw is the KFC variety which I like. The tortillas were soft and hot in their little plastic bag (you can also get a biscuit if you prefer). The salsas had a nice kick.

The place is kept clean and there are a lot of workers around helping. I can see why this place is so popular. You can get a 1.5 hour validation in the parking lot for the office building that houses Pollo Campero, so parking is free. Cost was @ $10 for 3 piece meal with 2 sides, tortillas and drink, plus extra side of slaw and rice pudding.
