Anyone been to "new" Po? How 'bout Medi?

elysei | Aug 20, 2001 03:26 PM

Long-time listener, first time caller. My husband and I will be in NYC for two meals (separated by a Broadway matinee)on Sunday, with my parents. Want to eat well, but not expensive. Here's my going in position: Want to try the tavern (bar, whatever) at the Gramercy Tavern for lunch. For dinner was thinking of the "new" Po--am aware that the TV chef famous guy is no longer affiliated but new Steven Crane Po just got good review in Times. And, yes, I'm positively influenced by the confluence of low prices, open Sunday, and takes reservations. (I'm a little intimidated by Lupa's non-reservation policy, if I have that correct--willing to be persuaded, especially if I'm wrong re: reservs.) Other place that intrigues me is Medi, since hubby and I were fortunate enough to have dined at Moulin des Mougins when we were in Mediterranean France several years ago. I still get misty-eyed when recalling my dessert there (some caramely-apple-y confection). But that's another story. Please advise re: Po and Medi, if possible. Thanks very much.
