Plaza Garabaldi

Andrea & Edward | Nov 7, 2002 02:24 PM

Edward and I had lunch at Plaza Garabaldi today between 9th and 10th on Washington Ave (the old Saigon location). Beware if you don't speak Spanish. It was really hard to communicate. As for the food, was adequate, but not extraordinary. We tried to start off with an appetizer, but it arrived when our entrees did. We had queso y chorizo served with homemade tortillas. Pretty tasty and very greasy. We each had burritos. Mine(burrito Garabaldi), had chicken, beans, lettuce, and other various stuff. Edward got the Picadillo burrito with beef and pork. No beans though, even though the menu promised them. Nothing to write home about. All beverages are bottled. Service was non-existent. Primarily, I think because of the language barrier. The interior hasn't really changed much since Saigon, except there are some sombreros. I like the influx of Mexican in Philly, but there are definately better choices, such as Las Casuelas, and La Lupe Mexican. Oh well...
