My sister and I are planning to arrange for a dinner for my parents to celebrate their 60th and 55th Birthdays when they travel to NOLA in March. We both live elsewhere, so it is just the two of them.
After reading the board, I'm inclined to go with Commander's because...we want something very elegant and delicious...they are food lovers, but not necessarily trendy (Dad especially loves a good steak that hasn't been messed with too much)...it sounds like their wine list is good (very important to Dad)...and they honeymooned in NOLA in the late 60's, so I think they may know of it.
The other issue would be which night to book...Friday, Dad's actual b-day, which might be easier to book, or Saturday which will not be a Friday in Lent. I'm inclined to go with Friday and tell them to sin a little!
Am I on the right track here? Any opinions would be great!
