I'm heading to Belgium at the end of the month for a week and was hoping that some folks could recommend a few places to eat. I haven't done much planning, so bear with me, this is a long post asking for lots of advice. The friend who I'm traveling with doesn't eat red meat and probably wouldn't be adventurous enough to try things like offal, so restaurants that specialize in those types of things are off the table.
We're planning on going to Brussels, Antwerp, and Bruges, so restaurant recommendations in any of those places would be greatly appreciated. I'm definitely planning on eating tons of mussels (know of a stellar place?), fries, waffles, and would love to try hop shoots which I hear are in season right now. Anything else that is a can't miss?
Two other things I'd like thoughts on - 1) I'd love to take a chocolate class there. Know of anywhere that does instruction in English and isn't a complete tourist trap? 2) My goal is to try three different beers a day (20 for the whole trip, which may not sound like a lot, but I'm pretty small), if you can list your favorites, maybe I'll be able to narrow down my massive list (or be counterproductive and make it longer).
