After participating in my boyfriend's family's Christmas Eve tradition of pizza, which involved some not so hot (both temperature and taste) pizzas from the ubiquitous Papa John's, I was hungry for some good pizza. Not prepared to wait for a table at my favorite Pizzeria Bianco, I called up Pino's Pizza on Thomas, just west of Central and ordered up a pie.
Let me tell you, Pino's makes a great pizza. I've eaten it before, but last night's was great (perhaps it was the comparison to the poor Christmas Eve pizza). The crust is great; it has a nice chewy texture, and would probably be even better eaten in the restaurant, thus avoiding steaming in the box on the drive home. The topping selections are pretty good, and include prosciutto and feta cheese among others. It's certainly not as cheap as the chain pizza joints, but it's well worth the extra few bucks.
The menu also features panini (which I have not tried), salads, and maybe pasta. I've noticed that they are often packed at lunch time, which must cause a little havoc in the parking lot that holds about eight cars, but the place is usually almost empty at dinner time.
