Pig's ear mushrooms

These mushrooms get mocked a lot on the web. However, I must have bought some mutated version as they were great. They had the taste of dried Polish mushrooms. I'll definately try them again.

Some reports are they have an affinity for artichokes.

Here's a recipe for Mexican mushroom soup

This has a number of recipes, but none of them give the mushroom any respect.

One recipe goes on and on ending to place on paper towels, fold and throw in garbage because that is the only thing to do with this variety.

Scientific name: Gomphus clavatus
