Pierrot or Brasserie Jo?

katielp | May 17, 2005 07:20 PM

Exams are ending and my boyfriend and I are looking for a great French restaurant for Friday night. We're celebrating but still students, so nothing super expensive (ie entrees in mid to high 20s would be the limit). We're transplanted Europeans, so we'd prefer something old-school to chic or faddy. We've enjoyed both the Craigie St. Bistrot and Chez Henri in their different ways, but thought we'd try somewhere new in Boston. I've heard both Pierrot and Brasserie Jo recommended, but haven't been to either. Which would you recommend? Anything else we should try instead? We're coming from Harvard sq, so something on the red line or within easy journey time would be best. A good and reasonable wine list would be a plus; great foie gras even better.
Many thanks.
