Which Pieces for $1K?

kaleokahu | Mar 12, 201809:24 AM

So, on the heels of iluvcooking's query about 5 pieces--and damiano's comments about starter sets--I ask:

If you had a housefire (or divorce, etc) and were starting over with cookware, what pots and pans would you buy if you could only spend $1,000? No limit as to number, but to keep this interesting, assume:

1. What you recommend would be your ONLY cookware you have;
2. You have to buy new pans that are still being made;
3. You have to buy at regularly-advertised prices.

So do you buy 3 very expensive pieces, or 12 cheapies, or a mix?
