picky teenagers in DC

Jane | May 12, 2004 11:13 AM

My sisters-in-law (age 13 and 16) are from southern suburbia and are the pickiest eaters I've ever come across (ie, don't eat onions, potatoes unless fried, green peppers). I could go on and on... subject of a lot of fights between my husband and I regarding parenting!! Anyway, they are taking their first trip away from mom and dad and flying up here to spend a weekend. I want to show them the "trendy" aspects of DC (OK, I know, DC isn't New York, but to them it is...) Unfortunately, every restaurant that I can think of that is hip and modern (Zayatinia, Mie n Yu, Perry's) doesn't have a thing on the menu they would eat. Can anyone think of any "chic" places in terms of atmosphere, that serves less "exotic" food (yes, I am laughing as I write that word). Think pizza, chicken fingers... ugh.
