pican-not the real deal

kate kline may | Feb 4, 201105:39 PM

We were all excited to eat real southern style food at Pican but were disappointed, no really dissatisfied, by what we were served. My BBQ sandwich was so dry I couldn't easily chew the very few charred pieces with almost no BBQ sauce in a poor excuse for a bun. ( The "BBQ sauce" was in a very small side cup- hard to dip and not especially flavorful.) My Gem lettuce salad was presented on a large white platter, just a head of lettuce sliced in half with a thin white sauce poured over it with a few tasteless tomato wedges. My friend ordered ribs which at least had some meat on them but like my food they were presented as if they fell out of the pot next to the overcooked fries. Simple food still deserves an appealing presentation but this attractive restaurant is only faking Southern style food and charging a lot for it ( our lunch with one cocktail was $52.)
