Last night my husband and I went to LaCroix for the "Best of Philly" special dinner - a 5 course dinner for $55. WOW - it was fantastic. First, we were there several months ago, but the som came to greet us and remembered us. Overall, the service was great, but the food was even better. First course scallops, second hearts of palm, third halibut, fourth piglet confit, and then a s'more take off dessert. I have had other restaurants' versions of the s'more - but this was by far the best with real chocolate and chocolate mousse intermixed with homemade graham crackers and a scoop of vanilla ice cream and charred marshmallow - WOW. My french husband, not usually the "s'more type" finished before I did. Hard to say that was the favorite when everything was so flavorful and perfectly cooked - especially the halibut and pork. Highly recommend trying if you get a chance.
We are also doing the Slate Bleu prix fixe on Thurs - a less expensive $35 option.
