Second night in Boston and the second meal at Rialto blew away the first nights nightmare at Mistral (see below). Tonight a group of us went to Rialto at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge (Harvard Sq). What a great experience. Although they did not have foie gras, which disappointed a few of us, the alternatives were great. I began with the Agnolotti of duck and rabbit in parmesan pasta with English peas. This was perfect flavorful stuffing with a slight cream sauce and the sweetest peas to top off the flavors. For entrée I chose the Slow roasted Long Island duck with braised escarole, roasted fingerlings and Sicilian olives (I thought brave of me considering the night before). This was perfectly prepared, crispy on the outside, succulent on the inside with only a trace of the fat still remaining. The only disappointment was only one fingerling, would have enjoyed a couple of more. Dessert was heaven with Hot chocolate cream with sautéed bananas, passion fruit and Bourbon ice cream. Absolutely perfect. Lets not forget the wait staff that was attentive, helpful and friendly. I would say this was as close to a perfect meal as I have eaten in a long time.
