I need to replace a pepper mill that has broken, but also have a more general question about cracked pepper storage.
First, is there a 'best' peppermill brand? I'm looking for one to leave out on the counter and prefer a tall one (12" +) in dark wood, black, or brushed stainless steel finish. A SoCal source would also be helpful. Oh......I start to get squeamish at around $40-$50.
Also, I sometimes see TV cooks using cracked pepper from the kind of sealable container I keep my Kosher salt in. Does it make sense to keep freshly ground pepper in something like that, unless you do a lot of cooking?
