Unsure of where to eat we stumbled into Patsy's as a last minute decision. It was about 8:30 pm during the week and the place was mostly empty. We were denied admission because I was wearing shorts. I was wearing a nice collared shirt and long unrevealing shorts. I actual looked preppy. In fairness if I knew that was where we'd end up I would have worn pants.
Since we never made it past the door I wondered if Patsy's was so formal to be so rigid about their dress code. Restaurants always staring for hungry customers have really lighten up on dress codes which I don't think is necessarily a good thing. During blistering summers I've worn shorts to more formal restaurants. I usually call ahead to ask if shorts are ok and have never been told no. If going Church in flip flop is ok should Patsy's reconsider their dress code?
