During October's reunion weekend, I spotted Patisserie Bechler on our way to Compagno's ( http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/362239 ). Never having tried Bechler, and since it was open early on Sunday morning, I wanted to stop and pick up some breakfast pastries. This was a big mistake.
"tre2012" mentioned it last week on the SF Bay Area board, and I concur.
Just by the looks, I could tell the croissants and laminated pastries would not be good. Moving on to the mini quiches, these turned out to be made with below average ingredients. The crust of the raspberry tart lacked buttery richness. The macaron was so dry, brittle and overly sugary. And the blondie brownie was way too sweet and already stale. What a waste of money.
