I am live in North Carolina, in the southeast of the foothills. I love passion fruit. However, getting it in the store is expensive and it is very hard to find. So, I began to wonder if I could grow passion fruit myself. I know it is a fairly invasive Vine mostly native to tropical areas but that North Carolina and other US states have a native passion fruit bearing plant called the maypop. I have never seen a maypop. I will need to purposefully cultivate passion fruit Vines. has anyone had any experience growing passion fruit Vines? It seems container growing might make the most sense as it is highly invasive through the root system and suckers mostly. Has anyone had experience growing passion flower, passion fruit or Maypop plants? Does anyone have any suggestions or tips and tricks?
