I've seen a few on this board, and also heard that many are really not that good. But I wanted to solicit more advice for our visit the week before Presidents' Day in Park City (and we will also be there that weekend, so I know we need reservations).
My husband and I are heading to Park City with another couple our age (late 20s) as well as my mother-in-law and her boyfriend. We are trying to plan a variety of different meals (e.g., all 6 of us, just the young folks, just the family, etc.) and want to make sure that we line up the right type of restaurant for the right crowd, so any thoughts on that would be useful.
Our thought is to do fireside dining on either Wednesday or Thursday, eat at the Glitretind on a weekend night, and make one night to go to the shabu-shabu place. We and our friends are New Yorkers who are willing to pay for good food, but get pretty mad when expensive food is bad. (See my review on Kelly Liken in Vail below for more on this :).) We also love fun, casual places.
We are probably not going to have a car, so places accessible on the bus route are appreciated. We are staying very near to main street and the Park City town lift.
Please help us out and have fun playing with the combinations of where to send us on what nights. We'll be in PC Wed-Mon, so we need to fill in 5 dinners. Any mountain food recommendations (which, I know, are always only mediocre) at any of the ski resorts are also appreciated, as we plan on skiing all three.
